Official statistics and market scope
The State Post Bureau release published on 18 September 2026 reports 1454.6 亿 delivery items across China’s postal sector in January–August 2026, including 1340.6 亿 express items; August express volume was 166.0 亿 items. Cumulative and monthly figures must be read separately. These are national statistics for specified periods, not October totals or China’s export parcel volume.
The 2025 statistical bulletin, published on 22 May 2026, reports 1989.5 亿 express items, including 42.2 亿 in the international/Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan category. Reporting geography excludes Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, while the destination category includes them. Reporting geography and destination classification are distinct; this category cannot be relabelled as export-only volume.
Unit conversion and statistical versions
The five figures above convert, in order, to 145.46, 134.06, 16.60, 198.95 and 4.22 billion items. One 亿 equals 100 million (0.1 billion). The national table uses 亿 items and the provincial express table uses 万 items; one 万 equals 10,000. Conversion is arithmetic, not a new statistical estimate.
The operating release of 22 January 2026 and the bulletin of 22 May give 2025 postal-sector delivery totals of 2165.1 亿 and 2165.2 亿 respectively. The reason for the difference remains unverified. Preserve the version and publication date rather than attribute the difference to revision or rounding; the bulletin’s general rounding note does not establish its cause.
Expert views and professional exchange
Liu Dacheng’s signed article, published on the Tsinghua University Institute for Internet Industry website on 15 September 2020, discusses rail-led multimodal transport, loading-unit standards and network coordination. It supplies historical proposals and research questions, not evidence of current implementation or results.
The China Society of Logistics summary of Jiang Xu’s speech identifies 16 May 2026 in Ningbo, Zhejiang as the event date and location; the page timestamp is 3 June 2026 at 15:27:31. Jiang discusses linking business problems with teaching and describes arrangements involving company data and teachers working on company premises. The page says it was compiled from shorthand notes. It supports attribution of views and institutional accounts, not a complete recording, national training outcomes or university rankings. Jiang is presenting his own school and has an institutional interest.
Ma Zengrong’s logistics packaging conference address, dated 9 July 2025 in Suzhou, Jiangsu, discusses packaging standardisation, reuse operations and coordination across companies. This is the address date; separate webpage publication is unknown. Recommendations are not current standards or verified environmental outcomes.

Cross-border needs and company-reported cases
DHL Discover China’s PSR/Wuxi Huotu Power case, published on 21 October 2025, describes customs documentation, tracking and customer communication issues in automotive-parts deliveries to Australia. Its Newshiyin/Dear-Lover case of 17 July 2024 describes logistics-information interfaces and receiving options on an apparel wholesale website. Its Leyou/ZSTARR case of 20 October 2025 discusses production, complete shipment arrival and installation coordination for customised motorised-curtain orders in North America.
All three are carrier-published customer cases, with a carrier–customer commercial relationship and success-case selection bias. Delivery time, cost, customer growth, repeat purchases and coverage claims are company-published descriptions, not independently verified results. The ZSTARR video was not reviewed. These cases establish neither industry averages nor causality or service commitments to other customers; payment for the articles is unknown.
Overseas warehouse technology and evaluation conditions
Cainiao Logistics Technology’s case section on 4PX’s German AGV warehouse describes automated guided vehicles providing goods-to-person operations alongside warehouse management and control systems. The publisher is the technology supplier and 4PX is the case subject. Publication date is absent; test periods, order composition and operating logs sufficient for independent capacity assessment are unavailable, and current deployment is unconfirmed. The case raises implementation and measurement questions; it does not establish general capacity, investment returns or an overall advantage for Chinese warehouse technology.
CEP Insight analysis and cooperation assessment
CEP Insight’s analysis is that these materials suggest evaluating China’s international logistics connections by specific task. Market scale provides context; the automotive-parts, apparel and customised-homeware cases raise documentation, order-information and complete-delivery questions respectively. Expert materials raise standards, coordination and training issues. This interpretation is not a shared conclusion of the source organisations.
SMEs can assess proposals by product, destination, declaration responsibilities, status notifications and exception records. Overseas universities, research institutions and industry bodies can explore multimodal interfaces, responsibilities in reusable packaging and permissions for using company data in teaching. Automation comparisons should align order mix, shifts, availability, labour input, full costs and implementation dates. These are platform recommendations, not evidence of established partnerships or guaranteed outcomes. Eight months of volume should not be mechanically annualised; national scale does not establish route-level prices or delivery times.
Source scope and disclosures
The sources comprise the listed official statistics, public attributed materials and supplier cases, not a representative industry survey. Jiang’s published summary was read on 13 October 2026; other citations retain their actual body review date of 12 October 2026. Statistical periods and publication versions remain as stated; this article does not claim coverage of the latest releases. Other experts’ personal consulting, funding and sponsorship arrangements are unverified. Citation implies no CEP Insight partnership, authorisation or endorsement involving the organisations listed. For corrections or additional sources, provide the original URL, date, statistical definition and relevant passage.
Conclusions
Assess China-linked logistics by the product, destination and operating task. Keep market totals, attributed proposals and supplier cases within their evidence boundaries, and require local measurements before comparing service quality or investment returns.
Sources and evidence scope
Read each source for its stated scope. Company announcements, observed research results, modeled findings and CEP Insight analysis support different types of conclusion.
